Garrosh escapes his punishment, what punishment? What did he do (assuming he did something in pandaria???? why do I not know of this...). So, in TBC the orcs all had an bloodpact with Burning Legion, drinking Magtherion's Blood becoming the orcs they were in Hellfire, right?¨
Draenor is Outland, before it became "hell-ish" right?
Damn dude... I don't even know where to start given all those questions... You are aware that there is no short explanation right? You will have to read a wall of text no matter what , and i'm simply wondering if its worth the time and effort to put it together if you wont read it...
As for Garrosh i'd recommend reading his page on Wowpedia , as he's one of the few characters that evolved a LOT during the course of the game since TBC which is pretty damn interesting.
If you want the "short" story: He became warmongering giant DICK and orc-supremacist that thought the other races were not worthy of being part of the horde and even tried to assassinate troll leader Voljin that in conclusion lead Darkspear Rebellion along the Alliance in the assault on Orgrimmar. He scoured Pandaria for rare artifacts that would assure victory for his perfect orcish horde. During the hunt for those relics goblin mercenaries hired by Garrosh tore apart the Valley of Eternal Blossoms which lead to uncovering the Titan chambers hidden below holding the heart of an Old God- Y'shaarj (which by the way was a source of the Sha in Pandaria). He used the heart to create his most powerful soldiers and even infuse himself with the power of the Y'shaarj as seen in combat during his encounter in SoO.
You can see the most important parts I mentioned above in the trailer for 5.4 - LINK
In the aftermath of the SoO which you can check HERE You see that he was dragged in chains by Taran Zhu back to Pandaria to stand on trial for his crimes. Due to reasons yet unknown to us , Kairoz - a member of the Bronze Dragonflight you meet on Timeless Isle helps him escape and most likely by using the powers and peculiar nature of the Isle (Bronze Dragonflight lost most of their power and control over Time after Deathwing's demise in Cataclysm) transports him back in time to change the past and thus creating alternate timeline that we will visit in WoD.
That basically covers only the Garrosh's part of your inquiry , I'll explain more if there is any interest in it.
PS: I suck at editing , sowwy :(
